When it comes to med spa treatments, it’s common to have questions. In fact, we encourage them! We want to make sure you have the smoothest experience possible before, during, and after your procedure, and we know a big part of that is simply feeling informed.

Below is a list of med spa FAQs and answers. For questions regarding your specific treatment options or concerns, we encourage you to speak with your provider or a member of our staff so we can provide recommendations that are personalized to you.

All of our med spa providers are licensed in the state of Arizona in their respective fields and have undergone intensive training and ongoing continued education to provide you with the best, most professional care. 

When it comes to medical beauty procedures, a highly trained professional matters. Our injection specialists are, at minimum, registered nurses (RNs) or above and have the proper licensure to ensure a safe and professional experience. Our aestheticians each have professional training and licensing that equip them with exceptional expertise. In fact, Colair Beauty Lounge and Med Spa is the only medical spa practice in the United States that currently has two AMI Allergan master level trainers in one practice!

Absolutely! We take extra care to ensure your comfort and safety. Our providers are licensed and highly trained to make sure we provide the best service that yields the best results. In addition, our providers have received extensive supplemental and ongoing safety training, so you can rest assured that you’re being cared for by the best of the best.

We pride ourselves on being conservative and concise. We do not perform treatments that are not proven to be safe, and we will only recommend certain treatments if we feel they are a good fit for you based on your concern, physical characteristics, and medical history.

We start off your visit with a tour of our facility so you can see our various treatment rooms and become acquainted with our staff. You will likely be asked to fill out some short paperwork and sign a consent form to prepare for your treatment or spa service. 

Your provider will then begin with a thorough consultation to inform you of your options and make a recommendation for the best procedure to fit your needs. They will also answer any questions or concerns you may have and make sure you know what to expect at your appointments.

The length of your treatment will depend on a lot of factors, including:

  • The specific procedure you are receiving
  • The size of the area to be treated
  • The methods or devices used in your treatment
  • How many treatments you have scheduled

Our providers will do their best to maximize your comfort. Depending on the procedure, you may feel some pinching due to the needles and/or laser. If at any point you feel overwhelmed, please let your provider know. We are here to make your experience as pleasant as possible.

Any side effects you may experience after your procedure should be mild and will depend on the specific procedure you are receiving and your sensitivity level. 

Redness and some swelling are common after appointments. Your provider will be able to give you more specific information during your initial visit.

This will be dependent on the type of treatment or service that you are receiving. Many of our treatments require little to no downtime or recovery time, which means you will be able to return to work immediately after. Some procedures are even quick enough to fit within your lunch break.

For most Med Spa treatments, we do recommend that you refrain from excessive direct sun exposure, intense activity, hot tubs/saunas/steam rooms, and anything else that can aggravate the treatment area. You will receive detailed post-care instructions from your provider that are specific to your treatment to help you maintain your results.

Specific treatment plans will be determined with your provider. Since our appointments book up quickly, we suggest scheduling your next visit before driving off!

Our priority is to make sure you have a smooth and comfortable experience. If bringing someone with you will make you feel more comfortable, we invite you to bring whoever you wish!

However, for safety reasons and to maintain the relaxing environment of our spa, we prefer that you do not bring children with you to your appointment.

We also accept rewards from programs to help you save money and earn points such as Alle and ASPIRE

Pre-care for specific treatments will be provided at your initial consultation prior to your appointment. Be sure to follow your provider’s instructions to ensure the best treatment results.

In general, common pre-care recommendations include:

  • Come hydrated! 
  • Avoid tanning
  • Limit direct sun exposure
  • Avoid chemical and facial peels
  • Don’t use self-tanner, spray tans, or have recently been in the sun excessively

Your provider will give you a list of detailed instructions for how to best care for your treatment area(s) and to speed your healing. It’s important to follow their instructions and ask any questions you may have to maintain and maximize your results.
