Injectable fillers? How is SculptraAesthetic different from other fillers or things like Botox? And why might I use Sculptra instead? You may have heard about this anti-aging solution and are curious to learn more. Colair Beauty Lounge & Med Spa has the answers for you.
When it comes to fillers and injections, facial structure plays a role in how it will work with your skin. One of the things you’ll want to consider is that Sculptra uses a synthetic form of lactic acid. The reason to be aware of this key factor is that lactic acid is something that your body can produce. That means it’s not foreign to your system.
Here’s the reality check, once you’re in your thirties, your collagen production has slowed down dramatically, which is why you start to see skin changes like less elasticity, slower recovery, and duller skin. The goal is to activate and promote the fibroblasts that help produce collagen. Lactic acid can help regenerate skin cells and stimulate them into action.
Now, because this doesn’t happen immediately, the filler works in two ways. It fills in the area with the synthetic lactic acid (Poly-L-Lactic Acid) while your skin starts the rejuvenation process. It’s the temporary solution that then stimulates your own body to fill those areas with better collagen production. It does take a couple of months to see the full results, so this isn’t a quick fix for a big event you’re going to.
What Else Should I Know about Sculptra Injections?
The most common use for this product is on the face, though some people use it in the chest area. Around the eyes, cheeks, and even jawline are the most widely requested injectable sites.
While it can be a little costly up front, the rewards are great and long lasting (up to 3 years). While you meet with one of our registered nurses, they’ll be able to give you a better idea of how many vials you’ll need, most folks need approximately one vial for every ten years of life. So, if you’re fifty, that’s approximately five vials, though truly, it will depend on the condition of your skin, as you may need less. This process may take more than one appointment, due to restrictions of how many vials can be injected at one time.
